Flushing oil from FD before refilling

My new final drive is now run in (I reckon) and is due for an oil change. Should I flush it to remove all traces of the mineral oil that it was filled with when installed?

I presume you're changing to synthetic?

Well as it's only 250ml worth, just do another change after a couple of hundred miles. Should then clear all of the old oil!

That was going be my next question. Do I fill it (and the gearbox) with 'any' GL5 spec oil?
