just sussing out a 'cunning plan' as Baldrick might say.
Anyone got ideas / suggestions / connections in the travel business?

2 one way tickets from Dublin to La Paz, Baja, Mexico - - and 2 one way tickets from Vancouver to Dublin.

no specific time slot, just sometime in May would do.

coz if it works out......

theres this guy i know needs his bike returned to him in Vancouver - its in Baja.
a dream trip - all the way up the west coast of U.S.A!
its a big if....a huge one - but if the air fare is cheap enough.......

*exits muttering something about "trip of a lifetime"
:D

talking to myself?!

no?
nobody knows a way?
:confused:
Wahhh!
:(

damnit - i have to make a decision soon on this. was hoping the collective wisdom here might know a cheap way to do this...

*shrugs* oh well - it was a nice idea.
if anyone here has a better budget and a hankering to ride from Mexico to Vancouver on a Triumph Trophy - mail me.

eM.

My sister recently flew to see her son in Houston TX and then on to Vancouver to visit my brother and from there home. She managed this because the airline (American Airlines I think) has a hub in Houston and gave her the internal flight plus two different enrty/exit points at a good price.
You might try approaching it from that angle.

Not sure what you're asking for here? It must be possible to fly those routes, it just costs money! I guess no one has replied to you because you haven't quoted any costs.

If you're still struggling, give me a shout as I might be interested in delivering the bike.

Its not a Triumph Trophy 1200 by any chance ?

Thanks for the feedback folks.

Dave;
the "local knowledge" is appreciated. and that angle is worth pursuing - a mate of mine over there is looking into precisely that.

Pipe+Slippers;
i'm asking for ...a lot for a little! - direct flights make this idea way out of my financial league. but if i can suss a cheap way of getting TO Baja and FROM Vancouver - i end up with a "Chance In A Lifetime Bike Trip". the onroad costs are reasonable - its the flights that may kill off the idea. best price so far is €1600 return for two.
(hence me chancing my arm and looking at every possible angle).

Stef;
yes - its a Trophy1200.

ANYone!;
join the "TriumphTrophy"yahooGroup - and search the messages if you want to know more.

Thanks again to all for the input / please pardon me ..but c'mon - you'd do the same if this chance arose *G*

aerlingus.com have just announced cheap flights to most of their destinations(99eu to LAX for example). However, as usual when you attempt to check a quote, with taxes etc all added on they are not quite as cheap as at first they suggest. 420eu to Los Angeles is best I got so far. British Airways still seem to be as competitive as most, with a lot more flexibility, so maybe have a look at them?
