I've had a footpeg lowering kit sat on my bench in the garage now for at least a couple of months, and it was decision time this fine sunny Sunday morning. Do I go for a ride or do I fit the peg kit ?
I didn't have a lot of time to spare as we were off to some friends in Chingford for a barbecue and had to leave the house at twelve o'clock. So, concluision: not enough time for a decent ride - so fit the lowering kit.

This was a piece of cake and took less than half an hour to fit so I felt I'd made the right choice in going for a ride, BUT................. although the riding position for my legs is now vastly improved, what I now find is that whilst the kit lowers the pegs, it also widens your feet apart position so that the inside edges of your feet just make contact with your gers change pedal, and the same with your rear brake pedal. Has anyone else found this who've fitted them?

I suppose my next course of action will be to spend even more hard earned, and buy an extended gear/brake pedals. Can anyone recommend which are the best to buy and where from?

As usual, what started out to be a fairly cheap modification, will turn out to be a very expensive one. Oh well, most of us do it don't we?:p1zzed:

Phil,

I got one of these for the brake pedal from Wunderlich
and there is an extender for the gear lever, but I can'r remember where I saw it. I've just got used to it instead.

Phil,

Ditto exactly. The Wunderlich gearlever extension thingy (Bakes has one fitted IIRC) is finished in knurled metal rather than rubber - looked like it would eventually knacker the top of my boots so, like Steve, I just got used to it.
Try it for a while, you'll probably find it'll feel natural after a bit (which is true of so many things in life :p )

Thanks guys

Thanks for the info guys, it seems it's not such a costly excersise after all.
