Hi All,

I'm about 6"2 and i find the high footpegs on my 1100 a bit uncomfortable. I see there are lowering kits available. Is there anyone else of similar height to me that tried them? Did you think the differnce was noticable and worth it or only just noticable and not worth spending the cash on.

Are they a well made and well engineered pice of kit, or did you think, is that it, I could have knocked a set up in my shed for 20p

Many thanks.

I would say they were the best investment I ever made on my 1150. I used to get cramp in my knees after about 30 minutes, but it's no longer a problem.

There are plenty of options - Touratech, Wunderlich, Verholen, Fastway Footpegs....and they are all extremely well engineered.

Hi Steve
Thanks for the reply. Look slike I'll have to invest in a set then.:)
Offhand anyone know what is the cheapest make?
Thanks.

Taipan.. The cheapest way is to do it yourself.. Get hold of a pair of Pan European or Deauville pegs, make yourself a spacer and bung em on..

Lowers by about an inch.... uses original pin..

I do believe the hangers on the 1100 are the same as the 1150 so it should work, if not i am sure someone on here will tell you if they are different.... Bryn

Now that suit smy budget!!:D Thanks for pointing that out Bryn. :beerjug:
Now if Bros and Dullville pegs are the same, i probably have set lurking in my shed somewhere......

Probably a lot dearer then salvage, but Bros ones are available online if anyone wanted them immediatley and was prepared to pay the premium, or would just rather have new?
They are listed in the chassis section of here (scroll down).

The two options (slimline and normal) look like this,

Well an old mate donated a set of footpegs to me for free, so I just need to fit them now. When you say make a spacer Bryn, I cant see a spacer as such on yoru set up? Or is teh spacer that angled alloy plate you used?
Many thanks.

Yep, the angled ally plate is the spacer i mean.... You just need to take up the slack as the pan footpeg will be loose....

If i can lay my hands on a bit of angle ally i will let you know...
(used all of mine up)

Only downside with this set up is if you leave the tarmac and head off road the rubber footrest is slippery and downright dangerous when wet and muddy. That's why off road bikes either have no rubber in the footpegs or have an easily removeable set up (like the GS). If you stay on the road and don't ride around standing up (much) this is a good solution.

Well i finally got round to fitting my new lower pegs. I got a set of peg lowering spacers from Bryn Overland and a set of pegs from a Honda Bros. The Bros footpegs go in ok, but are too narrow to allow the spring to fit in. So I do have lower pegs but they currently aren't sprung loaded. No worries though as this doesn't bother me, although I will be getting a set of dullville or Pan pegs ala Bryn Overlands recommendations just to get it all fitting and sprung properly.
Many thanks to Bryn for his help and advice on this. :beerjug: I should now be able to rid ethe bike with my MX boots on. :)

All in all I'm pretty pleased with this ocnversion. It smuch more comfortable and takes teh ache out of my hips and knees.

One down side is reduced ground clearance. I keep grinding the pegs on roundabouts:D

And theres me saying I'll never get on with this bikes weight and telelever set up! :P
