The Fastway Footpeg kits from Nippy Norm's look pretty good, anyone using anything else...?

I have them and think they are great. I went back to the originals last month before getting a new bike and couldn't wait to put them back on the the new one. The originals are crap, too narrow. :thumb

the fastway pegs are the dog's - one of the best mods in my opinion

Agreed. They are much wider than the standard pegs and so much more comfortable. I have mine set in the low position which gives my knees more room too.

bloody steep at £125 ish I think

I've just pulled the rubbers out of the standard pegs. The resulting serrated metal pegs work fine with my Moto X boots, even for standing on. I have enough problems dragging the toes of my size 9 boots in the corners without fitting lower or wider pegs.

Funny you should say that, same concerns here led to me taking the rubbers out this weekend.

It's a bigger improvement than I expected and works perfectley for me - I had been toying with the idea of fitting Fastway pegs but now no longer feel the need to do so :)

I have the Fastway pegs on my 1200 and have just got back from Romania etc, 5,500 miles in 20 days. I bought an extra set of BMW footpeg rubbers and fitted them, along with the original pair, into the Fastway footpegs. I used the longer of the two sets of supplied allen screws on the fastway footpegs and these came almost flush with the rubbers. (Fastway 001.jpg).
The advantage of doing this was that I had a nice wide, damped footpeg for the motorway and main roads blasts and, by flicking the rubbers out (easy & quick), had wide and VERY grippy footpegs for off-road, giving you much more control (Fastway 002.jpg). My two collegues used the standard pegs and complained of their feet slipping off the pegs off-road, especially in the wet/mud.
As previously stated, you can mount the Fastways higher or lower, but you can also alter the 'camber', so you're almost certain to get a position that suits.
I bought mine from NN... usual brilliant service.

**As previously stated, you can mount the Fastways higher or lower**

So is the high position any higher than the standard pegs please? as i need to get my pegs up a 1/2 inch if possible.
Cheers. Lyn. PS: it's the diddy legs that do it.

From what I remember, the 'standard' position is about the same height as the original BMW footpegs, and the 'lowered' position is about 10-15mm lower, so they're probably not what you're looking for.

I’ve had Fastway pegs fitted for approximately four months now, they are very well made. In the low position they are more comfortable than original for the longer legged rider, although I find my foot scrapes the ground more often now.

However I recently bought new boots (BMW Transition – very nice) and the combination of thicker soles (relative to my old boots), my size 45 feet and the wider Fastway pegs (pivot point of boot moves forward) resulted in difficult gear changing. I’ve tried adjusting the gear lever and have even changed it for an adjustable lever but still not been able to find a setting that makes changing easy! I have to lift my foot off the peg and stamp on lever to change down – not good.

I’m now seriously looking at splashing out on a set of Pivot Pegz, which should solve the problem as the pivot point is as original and they still have the wide platform like the Fastways, although they are not height adjustable.

Failing that, it’s sell the Fastways to someone with smaller feet and refit the original pegs.

Anyone else had problems with gear changing using Fastways?
