Footrest eliminator/exhaust hanger for sale

A nice idea, but in the UK, if you have a pillion seat and the bike wasn't originally registered as an enduro (unlikely, there's no need to), you are likely to fail an MOT if you haven't got any rear footpegs.

So, for buyers - keep the original hangers and the pegs, and don't bin them!

Good advice. Having had the bike in France for 6 years where there are no MOT's I'd not given that a thought. Easy swap though. Probably 15 minutes to swap from my bracket back to your foot rests and hanger.

If the bike came with footpegs and a dual seat and it hasn't been converted to a single seatn, then strictly speaking it should keep the pegs - here's the excerpt from the MOT manual
pillion foot rests are not required on motor bicycles that only have a single seat. in addition some motor bicycles used on or after 14 June 1993, which are intended to carry a passenger may not be fitted with footrests but with handholds attached to the motor bicycle frame adjacent to, or part of the seat. Refer to manufacturers information

In real life, you rarely get challenged about this - my 1150 made it through the last MOT with one of the footpegs missing (I'd taken it off after I lost a bolt and forgotten to refit it) but bikes have failed on this in the past so it's worth keeping the bits, just in case.
