Before you get excited guys, I'm a 57 year old bloke who's only just got round to taking the bike abroad. Planning a week in Spain via the Portsmouth Bilbao ferry in May 2007. Taking a 1200 GS (no sat nav) along with the lad on his Triumph tiger. Would really appreciate any advice from you experts out there who must have done these things before. I'm particularly interested in any tips re accommodation - take a tent in case? or are there plenty bike friendly b and b type places - if so what sort of thing do you look for? Any good ideas on places to go / roads to ride/things to see? We've got 6 or 7 days riding and kind of fancy seeing some interior hilltop villages / towns, but if anyone has any good suggestions we'd be really pleased to consider them. Also- any good tips on kit and equipment to take -what was useful and what was a waste of space?
I know it must seem like we haven't a clue what we're doing, but with so much experience out there, it seemed daft not to ask for a bit of guidance.
Cheers in anticipation,

Hello + welcome!

Have a search for Picos de Europa - stunning scenery, roads, plenty of campsites and only an hour from the ferry. :thumb

Interesting thread title - you might get a few different responses

Thanks for quick response

Blimey! I only nipped out to buy the Christmas plonk and there were some answers already - and a couple of very interesting links. Thanks guys - any more Spanish details still appreciated. Thanks again - most impressive. (Makes me wonder -is anyone out there working? If not who's going to pay for my old age pension?!!) Cheers for the tips,
