Fork bridges - fork me!

Bath Rd techie told me today that BMW have replaced over 800 fork bridges this year on R1150GS because they are corroding away. He also tells me that they have temporarily stopped shipping replacements until they can come up with a solution to the problem. That's me with a rusty bike for another few weeks then!

Mine have nearly been replaced 4 times so far. each time BMW have failed to ship the parts.

Are they replacing the bridges on bikes that are out of warranty?

You guys should of bought red 1100's, my fork bridge is 100%, everthing else around it needs replacement though

Thanks Dirk, a very generous offer but I'll stick with my bubbling fork bridges. It was a tough decision though
