Whats the roads like (weather wise) from the fort up to durness way. I was thinking of a day run when i'm off and if I know what the roads are like I can work out how far I could go.

Bit of a thaw on today G.
All main roads clear, but still plenty ice on the back roads.
I did notice a flashing sign this afternoon saying that the A86, Laggan road was closed, probably an accident :nenau
Enjoy the trip if you get away:thumb2
Hot coffee/ soup waiting if you want to call in on the way past :thumb2

Your looking at a 360 mile round trip Columbus.
You would be better breaking up your journey mate, although it could be done some of the road North of Ullapool is single track and can be a busy road.
Far better to do that journey over 2 days, only my opinion mind you.
What ever you decide to do you'll enjoy the road to Durness.
Cheers Rab

Think oor Columbus has been before.

I recall him telling us in the distance was Stroma Island and here it was Orkney:augie

I then knew why Magelan proved more popular than Columbus:D

Roads fine today if a tad wet:thumb

Temp to plummet tonight, so wet roads could prove tricky

-9 on my way home last night.
Woke to rain this morning, not a good combination.
Very slippy off of the main roads.:(
