What would a modern GS be like if they had had the chance to REALLY develop it as it should be, as they wanted to, rather than having to pander to the H&S rules and EU emissions laws?

It would be lighter. The engine would be smoother, better fuelled and more powerful- a bit like one of Geoff's then. The headlight would work. It wouldn't have a cat. It probably wouldn't have a fashion-accessory single sided swinging arm. It would be more economical. It would have proper quality suspension, with full manual adjustment. It wouldn't have a trip computer.
