Found this today

This is a 1912 Zenith Gradua 770cc. Zenith's were made in Finsbury Park in London from 1904 until the 1950s.
Fascinating, with time, I hope and feel many will shed light on who they were. It must have been a transit camp, as there are many different regiments and taken over a long time, as if you look at the foliage, some are in summer months and some winter....
That door !

Good find Noddy :thumb2

Something that always makes me think when I look at pictures from the Great War is that there are so many images of so many people, yet they now have all gone.

looking through all the photos shows that they were almost all taken in the same three locations. Most of the soldiers had muddy boots. I wonder if the photos were taken by the local french photographer (they are all "staged" photos) and sent home to loved ones? It ciould well be that they were in a rest area.
I am quite taken with 113 - sassy looks I think!
Also wondered who a couple of them are eg 41 and 272 appear to be either US/Anzac judged by their lapels, also some are surely french or belgian.
Makes you think.

Superb find Noddy, some very interesting shots there.
you can see some real emotion in some of those pics

Like i have said earlier, I had no interest in WW1 until I visited Verdun last year..... and since I have became drawn to it's stories.
When travelling round both UK and France I make a point of looking at the village and town's monuments remembering people like these shown in the pictures...... I find it very moving to think of such a great toll/loss!:eek

Nice find Noddy.:thumb2
