Well plugged it in. Should I do a auto tune ? Looking on YouTube I presume I leave fp3 on and ride it a few times or is this not necessary 🤔
Bike still starts so I haven't broke it yet.:) Bit unclear what to do if its been plugged in before.

I've never used autotune as the maps downloaded from V&H have yielded the results I wanted. The only "extra" I did was to increase throttle progressively from standard to standard+

However, if you want to use autotune, you need to follow advice like this (stuff on YouTube is easier to follow)...

concentrate on. I don’t like it… therefore I wait until I am done and FINISH to save the completed Auto-Tune session.

At this point of the Auto-Tune Process, you will have to start TARGETING certain areas more to FORCE THE TUNE to those areas still in ORANGE... REMEMBER... 100% OF THE TABLE IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.. the outer edges are more difficult to achieve than those closer inward....especially in the lower RPM ranges and lower TPS% ranges.. do your best and ALWAYS MONITOR YOUR TABLE TO HELP ACHIEVE THE MOST LEARN BLOCKS POSSIBLE BY RIDING WITHIN THOSE RANGES

I hope I have shed some light on the FP3 Auto-Tune Process for some. If you have questions… PLEASE post them here so I can answer them as best I can to aid everyone in learning/understanding the FP3 a little better.

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure on this as mine has a stage two 🤔 Screenshot_20230731_135750_Samsung Internet.jpg

You're in territory where I have not ventured However, Google searches reveal that many have with good results. Here's one guy's experience from the Road Glide forum which shows that contacting V&H is an option:

"You don't have to stick with their 'canned map' as you keep mentioning. Usually, those maps are used as a base tune. Afterwards, you can run an Autotune cycle and it helps to smooth out all the rpm ranges. Also, you can further adjust throttle response, backfire (some people like decel pops), and other adjustments.

If you don;t like the results of the Autotune, you can contact V&H, upload your chosen tune, and they will revise and 'tweak' it for you, send it back. All this is done on through the App and mine was done within a day."

Oh bugger that. I'll leave it as it is. But thanks for the info.

Decided to have another play with the FP3 and emailed Vance & Hines asking for another map for my new stuff i fitted and they kindly sent me another to try. Said give it a go and any problems get back to them.
Good service I thought.

Your definitely getting into this mechanicing lark. 😁

Just go to a reputable dyno operator and get it tuned exactly as presented……
How do they do that ? Something that plugs in like the FP3 plus it's finding one near ish to me.

Seriously….it’s worth travelling a bit if you’re interested in doing it right….I’m lucky. One of the best is right on my doorstep…but he’s a Harley guy…when I had the ZZR sorted….it was a day trip to Bristol….

Where do you go ?

Next job on the Harley and I'll take it to where you said.

I haven't enquired yet but when I get the bike tuned at 2nd city customs will they do away with the FP3 ?
