Anyone covered a similar route down before, also maybe thinking of getting new tyres on way down as there to good to bin at moement or is this unwise??,the tent will be up every night so an campsite recomendations also please:confused::thumb2:beerjug:

look up swiss normandy Caen to Mayenne D962....... very nice...next bit is dull good luck..... then head for Limoges pick up N21 via Periguex/Bergerac very scenic this road will take you to Tarbes very pretty route..turn left pick up N230 over the big rocks and into spain.....

nice little site on N21 near bergerac.... called ORPHEO NEGRO...... cheap but very clean with a lake and pool... plus bar and food!

tyres in spain cost an arm and leg , I always buy on the net

Thats true.....not cheap here in Spain...as for the scenic route stick to the national roads in both countries....good and bad sections but a hell of alot more enjoyable...and cheaper..than the toll roads....plenty of camping en route too.Enjoy the trip.

Tyres are pretty good price in france at the moment, currently cheaper then the UK I believe.

There are two main outlets who do a drive in drive out service for tyre changes in France, I have used both chains in Limoges and Brive for all types of bike and they are all pretty good on service and price.

Bose,

If it is before the 20th June, follow the steps of Whatton, Surrey Yeoman, Mike Wright, Steve & many more, and stop off at our village for a slice of rural catalan lifestyle.

Free camping on our finca, or B&B at in a friends casa rural in the village. PB

Made that trip via Calais last month .... can send Garmin route if you like .. if I can find it :D

Love the picture mate, brings back old memories of living in Gib for 3 years :)
