That got you looking.....

I am pricing shipping my bike to Canada and the company have just e mailed me for the size of my bike (1150GSA).
I need:
a. max height
b. max width
c. max length

I just went out to the garage armed with a measuring tape, pen and paper to measure it myself. My heart nearly sank when my GS was gone, stolen.....
but then I remembered that I took it to Scotland last weekend :blast

Can someone please give me the dimentions ASAP so that I can e mail them back.

PS Sorry this is on the wrong section, but for maximum exposure.

Regards,

Davie.

size matters

from the manual:

overall lenght 2180mm (85.83 in)
width
- across mirrors 980mm (35.58in)
- across handlebars (with ends) 903mm (35.6in)
- across rider's footrest 602mm (23.7in)
- across pillion footrests 735mm (28.94in)
height (excl mirrors) 1435mm (56.5in)

might also help to include unladen weight, ready to ride, tank full, which are 253kg/276.5kg (558lb/609.6lb) (I don't follow these)
dry weight is 232kg (511lb)

from my 03 GS manual, but it includes GSA figures which are those quoted above.
what do I win? :beerjug::thumb2

Thanks

Cheers for the info Ronnie.

I will e mail them back now and await the quote

Hopefully it will be reasonable and Voyager can have his garage all to his self for the next 2 years.

What did you win? 2 pints of beer when we meet :beerjug:

Regards,

Davie.

2 pints? :clap I'd have been more than happy with 1:thumb, but never a gift horse in the mouth look I always say:green gri.

Luvverly couple of pints of Brains SA would go down a treat. Mmmmmm:).

Where in the realms of Blighty are you for me to collect your bounteous prize of these 2 foaming tankards before you head off to that there Canada? Your avatar doofer doesn't give much of a hint. Never fear, I shan't stalk you. Well, probably not anyhoo:green gri

Did you go for 2 pints cos of the smiley I put next to enquiry re prize? If I'd known it works that way, I'd have done a smiley by an Aston Martin or similar.......:D

Its really no problem if you want to leave it with me Dave, the garage needs a clear out anyway.

I'll be offering the K1200GT for sale shortly (once its been MOTd & taxed) so I might have even more space available.

Bob.

P.S. Ronnie69 . . I've bad news for you. Dave is in Germany and heading for Canada for two years. I hope your thirst can wait :D :D

I am interested to know who you are using, and if you don't mind letting on, how much they are going to charge you...

...I'm thinking of doing something similar for a big trip in 2010...

Cheers

Bob,

I'll let you know what's happening soon (60 - 40 for shipping at the moment). We will have to go for a run out when I am back in Scotland at the end of next month (23rd - 30th May).

When I have received my quote I will post the price for all to see.
