Here's an interesting story for you all.

I recently installed a new light bar and fog lights. Took delivery of an ASB6 switch from NippyNormans so I could use the indicator cancel button to switch them on and off. The web installation instructions are not that clear on the autoswitch website. When viewing them it looks like you need to connect a wire to the blue and white cable in the throttle side switch cluster, and one into the computer interface socket under the petrol tank. Infact you only have to do one or the other.

Anyway by the time I realised this I already had the tank off and the back of the switch cluster off. I opted for the undertank option so I didn't need to run the extra cable down the handlebars. The cover at the rear of the switch cluster is held on by two micro screws (self tapped into the plastic so they only need to be finger tight). After opting for the undertank option I replaced the cover on the switch cluster, retightened and continued on with my installation.

Couple of days later I was zooming over the Woodhead pass to Sheffield and it had cooled off a bit so switched on my heated grips. After 5 mins I suddenly realised the throttle wasn't snapping shut when you let go, it had developed a degree of resistance, such that you had to turn it closed, if that makes sense!!

Onto the M1 south roll the speed up to 70mph (ish), hand off throttle, and bingo I've got cruise control. Turn the headed grips off, and withinin a minute (presumably due to the cooling action) the restance disappears and the throttle snaps back like nothing ever happened.

I'm guessing the tolerances are that close in the throttle assembly that fiddling with them two little screws makes all the difference to getting free cruise control.

It does get a bit un-nerving in slow moving traffic so this week end is slacken the screws off time. I think I can live without cruise control

Cheers
