A holiday or more permanent trip, if it's just a holiday most UK SIMS will work in France. Depending on your tariff you may need to make a small deposit. Or something like this.

Cool, I was just thinking of a few weeks holiday and not wanting ot pay uk prices for receiving calls, but have the ability to top up over in France.
