I will be having a ridearound the peaks lanes this friday if anyone is interested
It will be mainly easy hard packed stuff and a little mud as I can find
Starting point will be the Famous Yonderman cafe which is at Wardlow Mires

That is midway between Stoney Middleton and Peak Forest on the A632
I would like to be leaving around 1015 to 1030 so if you want the three of everything breaky come earlier
I am on a r100GS so big bikes are welcome but if you have a little un and want a very easy day come along

Would love to Mick, but I'm already committed to a mountain bike ride tomorrow. If you're heading to Houndkirk, Long Causeway or Shatton look out for an unfit tall bloke on a lime green bike, he'll be glad of the excuse to stop for a natter.

A Peak Ranger told me they had re-graded along the houndkirk so we will give that a go see you on a trail somewhere

Had great day with me new mate James
did 120miles of lovely roads 14 trails - no drops - not bad at all for first timer offtarmac with road tyres on his GSA1200
I must be a good tour leader /route picker

hounskirk and Black Harry trails have been looked after by the council and stone has been put in some of the more dodgy places
The play area where the knobheads had cut the moor to bits mainly in their
4 x 4s on hounskirk is fenced off and has been repaired also
Sun was out all day and only saw a few walkers/hikers on the trails
No photos to prove it though
Hope "Town" win tonght = perfect day

Thanks for the great day Mick, was awesome I rarely venture into the northern area of the Peak District so i was well chuffed.
I wasn't aware we did 14 tracks

I clocked in at 160 miles round trip and didn't manage to drop the bike once, had a near miss !

Nearly hit a dam pheasant as well and the horn wouldnt work when the sheep decided to play chicken near Chatsworth, hard as nails them sheep were ! lol

Defiantly have to do it again now the weather is warming up

I managed to find the "Track Back" feature on my Zumo or "Tracks" as its called and managed to pull in the route that we did yesterday

(I was marking positions as I went and adding them as favourites and was going to try and put them all together as a route, but I tried this and got lost after the first "off-road section"

Anyway, after faffing around in MapSource and Google earth I managed to put together the entire route, took me a good hour cross referencing it, however Mick I could only map 11 tracks in total, I know we did 2 twice so don't know if you were counting them as 1 each.

Anyway this is for Garmin I have included and I have also included the route as a text file if you wanted to try and import it into another GPS

We did double back in a few places so if you see the track stop in the middle of somewhere it was probably because we just turned around and Mick needed another pish ... haha

Petrol Points: Petrol at start and finish and a few on route too
