Front and rear disc lock recommendations.

As a monster chain isn't really practical when travelling (16kg+) I'm thinking of investing in a disc lock for the front and rear of the bike.

......................

What about a cable? I use a 15mm cable with loops at each end. Combined with a U-lock that fits under your seat (is there still room on the WC's?) you have a light weight and compact 'chain' that is IMO much better than a chain and will sit, coiled up, in the bottom of a top box/pannier etc......

When my bikes were on the street I had a couple of attempted thefts, nice deep cropper marks on the cable but they couldn't cut through it - job done :)

15mm cable sounds better, I can find 12mm here Sterling 122C 12 x 2100mm Double Lo...p/B001CN0D0G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_y-RWybK2PTWWX

Link for the 15mm?

I use the very same when I park in an unknown area (e.g. back alleys in Europe somewhere!) c/w Abus padlock. I carry two sets with me.

Are you sure we're different people? :nenau:nenau:thumb:thumb
