Hi All,
I have an 1100GS and whilst renewing the front pads, noticed that one of the brake discs moved a lot and the other side didn't. In fact the one that moves makes a hell of a knocking noise when the wheel rotates. All the screws are tight and so my question is are the discs the floating type and if so why does one move more than the other and what is the permitted "slop" ??? Help !!!

Andy.. I,m sure this question was asked a few months back..car,nt find it though, Think it was wear on the bolts (not sure though :nenau )
Think Vern had the answer, try a pm to him, sure he,ll help :thumb

HTH.

I can't find it either. It's the actual wheel wearing out,not the disc.Just take the wheel out, take the disc off and have a look at the mounting bosses and they'll be worn. All you have to do,is draw file the bosses level again, and bolt it all back together.

Give me a bell if you get stuck 01905 612705

take the bolts out and check the little sring type washers , mine had the same problem all but one washer had a split in it. renewed, problem solved :rob
