I bought a pair of replacement forks for my r100gs bumblebee. They have a black slider and I was planning just to change the sliders over to keep my yellow one's. The stanchions on my bike a badly pitted. When I took them apart the the new ones have a slightly shorter spring, about 15mm and a slightly different washer on the end of the spring. This has a slightly smaller hole in it and is a slightly different shape. I am just wondering which bits to keep and which to swap over? Is there any way to tell what kind of springs they are and is the slightly smaller washer preferable.
Also any thoughts on keeping black slider's on a bumblebee? I'm thinking totally standard is preferable on whats becoming a classic but the black ones have a lovely coat of paint and the yellow ones don't. Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and get them sprayed.
