I want to take the front mudguard off, can anyone answer a couple of questions about the process please?

1 - It looks like I need to take the wheel off, is this correct?

2 - To remove the front wheel I think I need a 21mm hex key, is this correct too?

Just want to check what tools I need before I head to the shops. Thanks in advance! :)

Everything you need is in your tool kit....

Yes the wheel needs to come out....

Toll kit? Do I have to pay? :D (edit BAH you edited your typo and spoiled my ace joke!)

By jove you're right, there's a tool that fits into the socket on the spindle, and it look slie I can get my torque wrench onto it too. Thanks for the quick response, saved me a few bob :)

So far I've spent about 100 quid on tools for this bike! (But I needed a new torque wrench anyway)

Can I add a word of warning here before you start. Nothing to worry about but take your time removing the four screws that hold the mudguard to the yoke. They are fitted using threadlock.
Hence when you come to remove them they feel really tight and to some extent they feel as thought they have been cross threaded. You need to use the torx tool to fully remove them, they dont free up even when almost out. The reason for this tale is when removing mine I felt sure they were going to shear off. As you have probably realised one did. To cut a long story short it eventually cost me a new yoke ££££££££££££££££
Its not a 2 minute job replacing the yoke either with these servo brakes, as the plumbing for the front brakes is piped through the yoke, so more time bleeding and testing the system. Anyway Pidcocks sorted it for me and its fine now. Moral of the story, take your time removing and replacing those four screws.
I now have a spare yoke restored to original spec. Bloke at Rolls Royce sorted it out for me.

Ouch, expensive! Thanks for the warning!

Any opinions on using threadlock on the bolts when refitting? I've averse to using the stuff except when essential, I prefer a dab of copper grease to help next time I dismantle it.

Oh no....

What ARE you going to do to the poor bike now Mouse ?:D :D :D

Dear oh dear I can't wait to see this one. What is it, a fender extenda made from a Qualcast mower grass-box?
:P

Take no notice of them Mouse, you just keep right on experimenting, but you *must* show us the outcome.

;)

Take no notice of the miserable b@stards mouse - KEEP MODDING:D :D :D
