front suspension recall / replacement

My March 08 GSA had a 6k service last week, after which i was advised by the dealer that BMW are offerering a replacement of the front shock absorber, so i agreed for it to be replaced in a couple of weeks.

guess its not actually a recall ?

Anyone had the same info / experience ?

On my '08 GS, BMW changed my front shock and my front wheel and my front tire.

guess its not actually a recall ?

It's likely to be an 'enhancement'
