Front tyre wears

Hi,

This is my first BMW and I have noticed more wear on one half of the front tyre, the left. Is this common? I assume it would be the opposite, on the right side in UK if this is from the riding only. Haven’t noticed this on other bikes.

Happened on my first tyre but not since, don't worry about it too much, but have a good check to see the alignment never the less...

I had a front tourance that developed uneven wear. The bike always pulled to one side (can’t remember which side though), when the tyre was finally changed after something like 12,000 miles the tyre fitter said that the tyre was suffering from a manufacturing defect and that if I’d noticed it earlier, it would have been sent back. To make matters worse my newish front tourance has just developed a bulge in the sidewall. Still rate them as great tyres though.

In answer to your question, I would say its not normal and would take the tyre to a dealer for inspection.
