Front wheel stiff...

I put a new front tyre on the other day and noticed that the front wheel does`nt spin freely as I thought it would. I checked after torquing the spindle nut but prior to replacing the calipers.

Are my bearings shagged or do they all do that?

This problem is there before I put the calipers on so its not brake pads binding.

Dave if it,s not your bearings which i would think it probably is, check the speedo drive.

Are the spacers where they should be, seen it before where the are incorrectly fitted or not fitted at all

I always put them back the way I found them but......I bought the bike from Mill at Boldon so I`d better check the manual and have another look.

Yes Dave mine spin's freely with the calipers off, as it should.

I sometimes find if I remove and replace the calipers for any reason the wheel's a bit stiff for a few miles but it soon beds down again. Could be the positioning of pads relative to disc is slightly changed after disturbance and they need to wear very slightly again to be perfectly paralell.
