frozen screen

my 2610 wont work!!! I switch it on the intro screen does a double take and then it fires up with just the zoom in/out box on left of screen and the ground where i am. It keeps jumping as i ride..............None of the controls will work. Has anyone had this problem, is it liable to be the software or a fault in the unit.
If not who knows the fastest way to get it sorted. It is 7 months old

Try doing a hard reset. Switch it on while holding the enter key. That might clear it. Also try removing the CF card, as it may be the problem and need reformatting/replacing. PB

thanks for info. Spoke to garmin today (20 minutes in hold) young lady told me to hold the menu and search keys down switch on continue to hold then up pops reset screen, loses all date but she said it was corrupt !!!! Anyway, working fine again now.phew , be 'lost' without it
