If i want to replace the fuel filter on my R1100GS then do i need BMW stock filter or the ordinary filters work too?

Bit worried coz the filter is inside the tank, but filter is just a simple filter on the second point of view? :)

Those BM ones are bloody expensive if i asked price. About 15£ at the same time ordinary ones are 2£ :D

Cheers, Margus

You need the correct filter as it pressurizes the fuel injection system

It isn't a big job to change it a workshop manual comes in handy

The filter is around £9,make sure you change the big `O` ring as these are prone to leaking and you will need some new fuel pipe clamps as the original BWM ones have to be cut off if it hasn't been changed before ;)

Changing the filter is not too hard, take your time & have a new O'ring to hand. You'll need 12mm screw type clamps to replace the crimped BMW clamps.

May be worrth buying the O'ring beneath the filler cap also as they're prone to expanding, very cheap (£1.06 here).
