Hi
My fuel gauge is now permanently reading full (R1200gs 2008) no matter how much is in there. I am guessing this is the fuel strip but my question is when I disconnect the connector on top of the fuel pump to the fuel strip the fuel gauge is still reading full, should this drop down to zero if it was the fuel strip that was at fault? I have had it all apart, took the fuel pump and strip out and tried calibrating it with a gs911 but it comes up saying error calibrating fuel strip.
Any advice on this would be great before I start spending money on this.

Cheers
Lee

When my fuel strip failed I instantly saw the yellow warning triangle for low fuel with the range counter slowly counting down until it eventually hit zero.

When you recalibrate using the GS911 you should have both of the connectors connected to the fuel pump when you do it. If the strip is buggered though then, well, you're buggered. Still, having the GS911 will enable you to save 100 quid on fitting a new one.
