I have had 2010 GSA from new, I have recently had the fuel tank sensor replaced for the second time under (only just in time) warranty, the fuel gauge was giving a false reading showing that it had much more fuel than it actually had and the computer also giving a much larger range than it could possibly have. After the replacement all now appears correct, just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem or if anybody can tell me if this a common fault with the GSA.
I have been using an Optimate 4 to keep the battery in top condition through the canbus system, could this possibly causing faults?

Yes, a common problem. Just use the trip instead for peace of mind.

Are you telling me I didn't have a range of 260 miles left after already doing 275 miles since filling up.
I feel robbed. :hide

Me too ..... yours is the same as mine, wish I could do 500 on a tankfull.

I have a GSA so in general work on 10 miles per litre and its a 33 litre tank (yes I know it will take 36 if you brim it). Fill up when convenient at 300+ miles giving some room for options on where to fill. Easy peasy.

Mine on a 2008 GSA with 41K KM went a couple of weeks ago. One day it started showing 3/4 tank with 450km range when I knew for a fact that it only had barely a 1/4 in it. The next day 0 fuel and the beloved yellow triangle with the flashing 'fuel!' warning. Trouble is the new one needs to be fitted by the dealer due to the calibration of the new sender. End result New sensor +2hrs labour = £228 @ BMW Algeciras.
BMW's don't you just love em!

Regards GibGSA

First indication on mine was 250Mile plus range (I wasn't paying that much attention on what miles I had already done) ... it then tumbling over the next 50 miles (managed to get 33 litres in that time:eek:)

now it is reading zero all the time

Look for some good will from your dealer as it is such a common fault:thumb
I'm having it replaced next week
