You can buy the Hitachi style connectors from E-Bay and then wire a switch in easily

I just bought an engine stop switch and stuck that on the LHS bar so can switch mode on / off - tend to leave on most of the time with the bike in touring mode (switch overides tour mode) then just turn off switch when on motorway - not that I can tell any MPG difference, but you never know it may save me a few pence on a long run.

Get the connectors and a bar switch off E-Bay and then:-

1. You can put a connector on the on / off switch and then unplug the connector for the clutch and then plug it into the switch, but like this when off you still don't have a clutch switch.

2. Or you could put the switch in parrallel so the wires from the new switch attach to the same connector that is then plugged in to the clutch, this means when "off" it works like standard (the other way with the switch "off" the bike always thinks the clutch is out.

The only thing to watch for (either way) is that when the switch is "on" you will be able to start the bike in gear, I try to get in the habbit of turning the switch off every time I stop riding, if you stop and leave the bike in gear and forget when you hit the starter the bike will lurch - not so bad if your on it, but if your stood next to it you may find it jumps off the stand and onto the floor.

Someone on the Super Tenere Forum has used a switched relay so it automatically operates when moving, and disengages when the bike is switched off (I think he tapped into the main headlight power as this comes on when the motor starts) - probably not so easy if your not electrically minded, but a neat (if over-engineered) solution.

I think messing with the interlocks is not always a good idea
