As it says on the tin, is a full system worth the installing for the gains made ??

I'm not on about the price issue but no much point in spending all the dosh for little or no return, so can anyone shed some light

Hilltop fuelling setup on std exhaust system is the biggest gain/cost ratio (£350) for about 15 hp, adding headers without it will smooth things out a bit and maybe a few hp and more noise. Changing the end can on its own is the least effective and most expensive gaining only noise really (too much on top of the headers?). +0 hp ?
The end cost was £1050.00 for 17 hp and 10ft lb, I bought my full system second hand.
I know this stuff because I did it all in the wrong order.

I've got full system plus Hilltop and I am very happy with it.

Added bonus is I never have to worry about the flappy thing seizing up :D

No full system aint worth it comparing it to the costs ££££, ive seen several WC bikes with stock exhaust make only a few BHP less than a full system, however it does make the bike feel like it's spins up faster.

I also found the full system with the baffle in whilst touring over a long period did my head in (I wear ear plugs) .

Do you want one?
Are you looking for justification for the ridiculous expense?
Can you afford it?
If the answer to one or more of the above questions is yes I suggest you get stuck in, trust yourself and do what you fucking want to.

:friday

You know, I have just bought an LC after my 2006 GS was written off. It's interesting reading these posts about upping the performance of our LCs at whatever cost but to be honest the basic spec of the LC compared to my previous GS is so much more I can't see any justification to upgrade at any cost.

My LC rocks.

Don't ride my old one then!:D

Full system + PC on my TC was wonderful (Akra). I was blipping the throttle all the time just to hear the snap crackle and pop.
I didnt cost me a lot balancing the purchase price against the rapid resale one i moved on.
The full Akra for the LC is a bonkers price + warranty worries.
How does a STD system and PC compare to a Hilltop tune?

What's wrong with the old one? JJH

...what are you hoping for...?

I had mine Hilltopped first with a standard system - the performance gains were impressive.
Then installed some Mivv decat headers - the extra performance gains (torque) were impressive. This also made the exhaust note a lot deeper.
Then installed a Leo Vince end can with baffle in - no extra performance but the noise was addictive.
Then removed the baffle and OMG this thing snarls and spits and backfires like a good un. No extra performance BUT full throttle and banging up the gears is so addictive, the pops and bangs on the over run is also very addictive. Only wish I had a quick shifter
That said, whilst bumbling along at sensible speeds its not that loud.

The total cost of all that is a smidge over (£1000) and worth every single penny.

I've had an akro end can on for the last 2 years and have just fitted the akro headers.

I'm loving the sounds from the back, I'd wish I'd done it earlier.

It's well worth it.

Nae idea what a hilltop is but yes, what you've described is what I'm after.

There is much debate and discussion about the Hilltop remap.
For the money - about £350, the performance gains are massive value.

The extra torque gained from my headers - again quite impressive, cost me £300
Apart from the noise, the cost of the end can - again about £300, the performance gains aren't that great....

However, the individual parts of the process bring something of a gain.
BUT the sum of all those parts bring HUUUUGE gains
