I wish I could ride like that!
:D

They were interesting pics. Ref. the first one, to the right of you in the pic. is a cross, is that to mark the death of a Salisbury Plain GS riding novice:eek:

The rider...Ok... Shep called him 'The Stump' , is not a member of this site is on road tyres and had his bike tackling ruts and slopes that I wouldn't go near with my knobblies!

The first pic was on the Ridgeway heading south towards Sanctuary and the 'cross' is a headlight lighting artefact. The remander are to the west and south west of Tidworth
Here's a few more:

As long as there's no red flags about then any BOAT is fair game, and any RB(RUPP that was) if you are feeling lucky.
Just keep an eye open for tanks, aye.
Even GSAs are onto a loser colliding with them. ;)

See this thread for some ideas:

and this pdf for more info:

Especially note:
LIVE Firing Information line: 01980 674763
Which will give you a recorded message telling when and where red flags will be flying.

I thought I recognised a fair few of those. Adams right about the red flags, when they are down there are some cracking tracks through there - I'm pretty sure they publish a schedule of when the range is open or closed, but I couldnt tell you where, as I've never paid enough attention :D

edit : helps if I read all the postings I guess :D

Is there going to be another "anyone fancy going for a trailride" day (like xmas on the plains) organised between now and Xmas?

What a great ride, I'm well up for this. What kind of standard would you need to be? :clap

Novice upward, there's some easy stuff out there and it can be made to get as tricky as you want

The Hogroast always has a novice trip out, its just a question of how fast you go at stuff.

That said, I'm not sure whats going on out there at the moment, I was riding last Thursday and got talked to twice by different officials - so best make sure you carry a map and try not to get caught off the byways. If you are, just be polite, they are normally pretty cool about it as long as you havent been taking the pish

I was up on the plains on the Sunday, but all the byways were closed (had "no public access" signs in front of them)...

I would love to meet up for a blast on the plains :D

I went down a couple gravel / stone roads on battlewings, is it necessary to have off road tyres on?
