G/S front brakes

will a early 90's k bike caliper fit a r80g/s? they look very close.

Nope....

Or for $80 US you can buy this adapter (not my bike pictured), but the caliper looks to be in a very exposed position...

I'm working on the conversion below, pix from a UKGS'er post...

Believe the oilhead caliper is the same as the K caliper.... the issue is that the G/S rotor is only 220mm and it is hard to get a caliper that will cover the rotor with it's pads (see the shot of the K caliper on my G/S)...

There is a picture of a Ducati 851/907ie caliper on a custom adapter that looks to work with the stock rotor somewhere.... the paralever rotor is 265mm I believe...

**edit** found it! If anyone has one of these calipers for sale, please let me know... I can't find a used one in the US
