G/S or ST seat question

Can a G/S (or ST) dual seat be cut down to make a single seat (with a recover)
or are the bases of the single seat significantly different?
...and what new parts might be needed to fit (apart from a rear rack)

The rear rack bolts to the rear of the G/s seat so its better to buy the right parts. If you look at BAMW's site they show a seat upside down http://www.bamw.co.uk/parts/seats.html

Thanks for the link..... sadly I cannot get the BAMW picture to enlarge, so not sure if a cut down dual seat can be used to make a single seat (and bolt a rack to)

You can cut them down, but you will need to come up with a way to affix it. Lots of ideas and fixes. Shurv just fixed his seat... he may have a few other ideas.

With the costs / value of original parts why not find a suitable aftermarket single seat pan
