thats a tall bike when I looked at one not so long ago, not for me mind so just wonderin how you gettin on with the height since you are only a little thing ? Do you miss your GS ?

Havnt really had a chance to try the bike with the new exhaust yet.

I did take it for a quick spin up the road and it did feel noticebly different on the response, but that could have also been down to going from 15t down to 13t.

The can is certainly free flowing (and noisy) It comes with a DB killer which is sitting on the shelf for now. ;). The can came straight from the factory, aparently I have number 001. It is considerably lighter than the standard can.

I still have my GS . . .this is my off-road toy!!! :D NOTHING would make me seel my GS!!! nooo waaaayy

Yeah it's tall . . . .I got the lower seat (doesn't help much) but there is a knack to it . . . .and I'm getting there :)

It's a fab bike, love it to bits!! :D

There is a 30 second modification you can make to the light switch that allows you turn the lights off but I have never had an issue even in extreme cold and after numerous restarts so a new battery/good charge is probably all it needed.

Watch out for the fuel light, when it comes on fill up, don't wait for a few miles :augie

Thanks for the tips :thumb2 yeah, I don't think the dealer gave it enough charge before they delivered it to me . . . got me an optimate now though :thumb2 . . . .it is a bit of a drain on the battery with the lights staying on after you switch off the engine.

I need to get my head round the manual for the compter. I went out for a blast on it yesterday, and the speedo didn't read anything, so I was trying to guess my speed . . . don't know if this is a glitch that has occured since the kerfuffle with the battery? OR whether i just need to press the buttons in some kind of sequence???? best get me nose into the manual.

It's got to go back for it 2 hour inspection soon anyway . . . . . thing is . . . right now, I can't find out how long I ridden it for!!! heheee lol

Ermm.... well I managed to get it from mph to kph once by pressing lots of buttons but not sure how :confused:

The moment it is started or you press a button the computer should fire up and then as you move forward the speedo starts, to change it to elapsed time or max speed, press the left hand buttons - To be honest this is a bit of a guess as the bike is in a few bits in the shed right now and I am a few miles away :D

If you do read the manual can you post a quick 'How to' for numpties? I did glance at it but soon lost interest....:blast

Just looked.... It is only the top right I use as it scrolls through hours and max speed but my speed is already displayed :nenau

If it gets confusing I usually ask my wife to read it - I might suggest it a bit later :D
 
Does anybody know where you can get two black plastic bungs for the frame, not the £30 Touratech ones although they are located in the same place on the frame.
 
Sorry guys. I'm coming to you from the other side of the world, Melbourne Australia. Just recently picked up a G450X with an Akrapovic pipe and am loving it. All my mates who have ridden it agree that it is a true trail riding weapon indeed. Had many great reviews in Australia but the last one I read was not good. Came 4th in a comparison against a WR450, KTM450 and Husaberg 450. All riders said it would have won the test had it not been for suspect forks (easily deflecting) and overly tall gearing. I would have thought they could have made a few suspension setup and sprocket adjustments during the ride but it apparently not. Any owners have any thoughts on the forks? They feel good to me - a little firmer than some of my mates bikes - but maybe I'm not good enough to notice the difference anyway.Heres a shot of my bike after a fast paced 6 hour ride in the bush just outside Melbourne. Yes I know....I lost a hand guard along the way.

15/48 is long, but for rally its good i thing
i,ve got 14/48 wich is for the dutch stugg very good.

the front suspension was very hard, so i soften them a bit there's somewere on the forum the settings i used.

Some people say the forks are to wobbley (is that a word?) because the 45 marzz arent that stiff thats why 48 WP or Ohlins are installed, but some other folks say because the frame is veryvery stiff it isn't that bad to have some flexebility in the forks.

I think for those who's are not in topclass pro level it doesnt inflect there riding...

Fanum came and took a look on his way to Morocco, hope to frighten him next time with some off-road antics!

The two main issues to address on the 450X is the suspension (harsh at the limit and prone to bottoming out) and the weight of the standard silencer (this WILL twist your subframe if used in anger).

The rest is fairly personal, apart from the tissue paper side stand.

We have seven standard Client bikes apart from suspension mods and remus exhausts and one full Speedbrain for customer testing. Our Speedbtrain is 001.

So we've done a bit of testing!

Good question, basically both front and rear were set up to my weight for 'green lane' use. Believe the oil quality and valving/shimming was changed on the front.

Interestingly two bent shims and some swarf were removed from one of the forks, must have been a factory assembly issue.
