Gambia info wanted

Hi

I'm going to Gambia in March.

I have been over there several time before.

The guy i use as a taxi driver would like a dvd player.

The question is will any UK DVD player work out there or does it have to be a certain type? would i be better getting it over there or taking one with me? Not looking at spending a fortune but would like one that is light as i have got to take other stuff over there.

Any Ideas?

Probably depends on where he's going to source his DVDs to play on it.

Most of Africa seems to be region 5, although South Africa is region 2, same as UK and Europe.

Could solve the problem by buying a region-free one.
