Was just wondering if sumbody cud confirm for me ow much gap they have between the exhaust and the rear tyre on there gsa(mines a 2011), been farklin today and fitted me exhaust valve bypass, but i just cant rmember ow much gap was btween the tyre an the exhaust to start with, at the moment ive got about sumwhere btween 10 an 15mm of gap???

Muchas grassias in advance an happy new year aswell:thumb

Just measured mine and at it's narrowist point it was 45mm.

I have a 2008MU ADV without exhaust valve.

Thankx mate, is that from the very tyre edge to the very edge of the exhaust, narrowest point???? Coz i defo dont think i had 45mm to start with:confused:

Mines an 1150GS but I found my exhaust quite close to the tyre one day, slacked off the clamps, re-positioned it and re-tightened and its not moved since.

I still cant believe how much space is "wasted" between tyre and exhaust. Many bikes run the system much closer than BMW do. Honda's VFR for example.

Yes that air must weigh something and the bike is heavy enough as it is

Yes mate, that was the nearest the tyre came to the exhaust. I have a standard setup with cat etc.

my gap would be more like 5-10mm, i was a lot bigger before i put the arko headers on, i must loosen it off and have a play to see if i can get it a bit further out

All sorted now:thumb2, thankx for the input lads, loosened it all off and had a bit of a jiggle about and the gap is more comfortable now, i fitted kiehan headers aswell you see, so they must run a few degrees out at the joint between the exhaust flap and end can me thinks, but nothin major its all spot on now! Dun arf luk alot neater without the poxy exhaust flap in line, sounds sweeter now aswell:JB

Should have bought an older model and used the cash you saved on communication skills such as spelling, typing, etc.
