Great spin out of the city using the back roads around Ashbourne and Swords.

Little bit disconcerting having a traffic cop on your tail but I soon forgot he was there and just enjoyed the ride.

Headed back to Dublin Castle with a smile on my face and then had a de-briefing from my Garda observer.

That was great Brian, very smooth, very good slow speed handling and great hazard awareness but keep an eye on your speed. Here's you cert.

So out of a possible 40 points I scored 32, great.

Herself scored 35, will I ever live it down.

Bye the way if you haven't done it before I'd recommend it.

As a matter me interest Brian, were you waiting long for it after submitting the application form? I know the guards do it voluntarily at the weekend and heard that since pay cuts some had stopped doing it as a form of protest.
Well done to both of you btw

We applied last March but because of the busy schedule the Garda had this year (Obama and the Queen) they had to put BikeSafe on hold.:thumb:thumb

well done

Well done, the pair of you!

It's probably worth mentioning the next time your insurance is up - you never know :nenau

Hi Brian ,
Never having done this, are you allowed a couple of miles over the speed limit or are you expected to stay safely within the limit at all times ?
Regards
Colm.

Colm, before we went out it was mentioned that there would be a little leeway:thumb2, but when I got back the Guard mentioned that I needed to pay a bit more attention when riding in 60 zones:rolleyes:

Bike Safe

Did this myself recently.

Booked it last year I think.... it was ages ago anyway!

Like ye I was warned about the 60 zone, but was told there'd be leeway on the 80's and 100's.

Got my cert and everything!

Well done to the lads in blue, I learned a few things!

Would recommend it to everyone, if given the chance ... take it!:thumb:thumb
