Garmin 2610 bike audio lead

Hi all

I don’t want to buy off Autocom can make one?

Does anyone know what lead/Plugs I need for the audio lead for the Garmin 2610 motorbike kit…. to the Autocom system the lead says 2.5mm mono to 3.5mm what I need to know is do I need 3.5mm mono or stereo plug to plug into the Autocom system?

stereo ? i think............... i'm sure my radio lead is (rt). my 2610 audio is connected to the grey din plug (aux) , iwanted to add a pmr radio to the system. so to do this i'll cut the din plug off and solder a 3.5 stereo phono plug on.....shorting the two center terminals together, dividing the mono into "stereo".

if this sounds like complete b***x let us know before i do it

Autocom make them, so you should be able - if you know the spec!

The genuine Autocom lead uses an impeded transformer so that the 2610 output does not directly feed the Autocom unit.

Frankly, I think you'd spend more time and effort trying to get it right than it's worth.

Buy the Autocom item.

just fitted 2610, bought 2.5mm mono plug from maplins about 80 pence, butchered a headset from recent holiday flight and wired up one of the speakers and put it inside lining of shoei helmet. i was going to buy an inline supressor after reading some of the comments on here but couldnt get one anywhere i.e car accessory shops(would have cost a pound so i was told), anyway tried it on the bike without and it was fine no interference loud volume in one ear.

Hi all

Just a quick update I did make the lead I wanted parts from Maplin……….. but when I tried it I got loads of interference

Bit the bullet and got the proper lead from Autocom 2.5mm mono to 3.5mm stereo also had to get an interface box that links them all together

All works fine now

All come through my helmet headset

I have mp3 player to listen to
Mobile phone connected (set to auto answer)
Gps audio instructions
Bike to bike communication
