Garmin 2610. Imputting GPS Co-ordinates?

Well, got hold of a 2610 a few weeks back (off the site ). Been reading & re-reading the owner's manual. Nowhere have I found any reference to being able to create a route by inputting the desired destination co-ordinates! Am I wasting my time expecting this functionality from a 2610!

IIRC you just create a waypoint anywhere, then type in the co-ordinates you want and save.

• Mark a waypoint - usually your current position
• Save it - but with the waypoint name you want eg "Pub" or "Hogroast" etc
• Edit the waypoint by entering the co-ordinates you want.
• Save again
