I keep getting the following message when trying to download to the unit:
"No devices were found. Please make sure your Garmin is connected to the computer and turned on. You may also need to set your interface option on your GPS to host or garmin"
It is connected - and the GPS doesn't even switch on. It was working 2 weeks ago. It makes a clicking noise when I try to 'find device'. How do I set the interface option to host or garmin on the GPS. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've tried that a couple of times. It doesn''t come up with the 'found new hardware' and that's as far as it goes. Thanks anyway - I'll go back to the drawing board. Neil

The USB driver is the most temperamental part of the package. Try using a different USB port and even different leads whilst re-installing the drivers. Eventually it'll work.

Did you have a look at this thread?

If your usb connector is slighlty loose it might mean the same prob as I had.

Looking through the GPS posts last night - trying to learn a wee bit more about the damn things (this is my first satnav) I came accross another forum memeber who had the same prob earlier in the year.

I have found I have to use the same port each time otherwise it just will not play.I have to switch mine on manually,it dont do it itself, maybe try that.:nenau

Your problem is trying to get the damned thing to work on that old shed of a Norton.

Garmins don't like to be shaken about so much <g>.

Guys its sorted

Tried another usb and port with drivers update.:beerjug:
Thanks to all who contributed.

just exactly how does one spell b*ll*x ???? :augie

that old shed was good enough to get me though the IAM test and halway through the RoSPA course, an it'll still be around long after your 11** is finished is flattening it's batteries for the last time.
Know what to get you for Xmas Chris, as set of jumper leads :bounce1

Well, the English probably spell bollocks like this <g>

But that was a VERY low blow about the battery. If someone had been considerate enough to tell me that I'd left all the lights on my bike it wouldn't have needed Alec.s magic electric strings.
