Hi guys I need to borrow some of your wisdom.

Just had a message from an e-bay shop ( I think it was Nomoremaps) they say I can't imput a full 7 didgit post code in the 2610, is this so?

What can I do to find a particular address?
Can I use a full post code to set a route on the PC, and then imput it in to the 2610?

Can I imput a short post code in to the 2610? Or is the 2610 not post code compatible. In which case which GPS 's (compatible with a motorcycle) can be set up whilst away from the computer using a full post code?

Cheers Val.

Yes, you can't

No. Part of the problem is also people don't look up an address the way the 2610 "thinks" but do it the way they think. For example, you may not be able to find "smithfield drive" when you look, but if you look for "smithfield", then scroll down it can appear. Don't ask me why.......... :D
Or the town can be different. I was looking for an address in Eastcote this week, as it's in Eastcote, but the 2610 has it in Pinner...........
Sometime you need to try different combinations.
The other way is to find it on the screen manually, then mark it as a waypoint.

Dunno.
Not in the way you're thinking.
Someone will be along presently to tell you which ones are :D

It can be VERY frustrating finding an address on a GPS - on my 2820 ( Garmins latest Streetpilot ) it's impossible to find Shepards Bush Green which is a fairly busy road in the middle of London. The only way I could find it was by finding the Shepards Bush Empire , which was on the same road. The 2820 does have a 6 digit post code facility but i've found even that isn't fool proof.

Garmin Navigators using the map City Navigator V8NT (CN8NT) can do full post code search. Devices with other map versions as CN8, CN7, CS7, CN6, etc can't. This means that GPS models as Quest2, SP2820 and Zumo are OK but older models as 276C, Quest1, SP2610 can't do full post code search.

Major downfall of the 2610 and Mapsource software and I find it a right pain. I suppose it's old technology now though.
