Garmin 2610 Startup Problems

Just got a new Garmin 2610 to use in my car and when I turn it on the screen flickers then goes black with a very fine yellow horizontal line which varies in position each time I switch it on.

Never had this problem on my BMW Nav II......

Any ideas...........?

is the power adapter in the cigarette lighter in properly and making good contact ?

does the 2610 work ok with the supplied transformer indoors ?

I'm using the same mains power connector that I always use for my Nav II, which works perfectly here on my desk........

I've also tried it with the new mains connector supplied with the 2610 and the cigarette lighter adapter in the car.......all give the same negative results.....

Also discovered that the installed Garmin USB drivers won't 'find' the new unit......

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that the unit is fekked....I've fired off an email to Garmin Tech. Support and the supplier....so we'll see what they say tomorrow....

Had a similar problem with not finding the unit.Try this thread, look for whitliners reply. Worked for me
