Hi all

Just wondered if the WAAS setting is for USA only? (Worth enabling) Also what should the elevation be as mines showing around 60-80 feet and I live very near to the sea?

Thanks in advance

The modelling of the globe can't match perfectly the actual bumps and lumps. BTW just because you're at the seaside doesn't mean you are at mean sea level. IIRC the "official" UK sea level is somewhere on the south coast.

IIRC WAAS isn't any use in Europe. It should show a "D" above the satelite bar if the WAAS is enabled, and it's getting a usefull signal. But why bother? Who needs the accuracy in just a few feet, especially if you're rubber banding to the roads :mmmm

On a 2610 in the UK with CN mapping, you're better off with WASS disabled.

The European equivalent of WAAS is EGNOS, activating WAAS on your unit will make use of this though for road navigation using a GPS device that snaps to the nearest road its usefulness is questionable. Try turning it on and see if you notice any difference, it might solve ambiguity where a road diverges and runs close to another.

When I got my i3 I had it on all the time for the first few weeks. Every time I turned the unit on indoors to upload POIs etc I had to reset the option as it's not on by default. Stopped doing that and didn't really notice any different and have never bothered with it on the Quest.
