Hi All,

Been offered a motorcycle Garmin 2620, could somebody please tell me if it is a good GPS and how does it compare to a Quest, Quest 11 and Zumo.

I am a complete GPS novice so please be gentle with your replies.

I might be wrong, but I think the 2620 has a microdrive in it (whereas the 2610 has flash-based memory) and so is not practicle for motorcycle use due to the vibration.

i had a 2620 on my st1100 never worked well.
2610:bow:bow:bow
others say there 2620 works fine :nenau
just got a zumo 550 great but more involved than my 2610,note te self- read the zumo instruction manual,:blast
if you just use in uk then get the zumo 500,
if you go to the EU then zumo 550 full EU coverage-
[including full bike mounting kit & car mount etc]
my 2p worth.:thumb

Or if you're on a budget do what I did and buy the zumo 500, which comes with the same bike mounting stuff but no car kit, and buy a 2Gb SD card from Play.com for £14.99 and load all the europe maps onto that from the included DVD! :thumb

i think late 2620s have flash memory too. needs checking into.

i thought about doing that but.
1, im fick. and have bad hands so 550 is no messing. [pre loaded EU mapping]
2, CAR Automotive suction cup mount with integrated speaker standard on 550.
3, Vehicle power cable incl Dashboard disk standard on 550.
4, turn into bla bla street/road standard on 550.
Ragnar is rite if moneys tight then the 500 is cheaper,:thumb

I have a 2610 and have used it for 4 Europe trips now, as of yet it has been faultless:thumb

If you can get a 2610 instead of a 2620 go for it. However I have no knowledge of the 2620 so that might be equally as good.

Thanks to all who have replied. This GPS thing gets more complicated the more you look. I am not on a budget, just want something easy to use on the limited use I will use it for.
