Garmin 26xx/27xx conversion to BMW Navigator I/II/III Software

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had actually tried converting their Garmin 26xx/27xx Streetpilot to run the BMW Navigator I/II/III software.
The BMW Software is available on both the BMW & Garmin sites and as the BMW Navigators are re-badged Garmin 26xx/27xx units I thought this might be possible as I think some of the BMW features are more appropriate to Motorcycling.
I think 2610 = Navigator I, 2720 = Navigator II and 2820 = Navigator III.
Any ideas out there or is this a non starter.

I don't think it is possible to do what you want- the unit knows what firmware should be loaded on it.
Is it the compass feature that you're after? - others might chime in here.

BTW, Streetpilot SPIII = Navigator (I), 2610 = Navigator II and 2820 similar to Navigator III.
 
NavI is SP3
NavII is 2610
Nav III is 2820

The additional features on the Navigator are biult in, and are not part of a firmware update. The firmware updates are the same ones that are on the garmin website
