Are you using the Garmin supplied USB lead in one of the main sockets? (eg rear of desktop tower?) no hubs or any other USB devices connected.

I had this on mine last year and it was a faulty USB cable.
Soory I meant to say, it comes up with the error message when attached to the bike, no error messages when plugged into the PC for upgrades etc.
I have cleaned all the pins on the cradle with isopropyl alcohol wipes thinking it was maybe a moistue broblem but I am still getting the same old intermittant feckin message.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jake.

Mine has done this for ages.
As it doesn't do it a lot I just ignore it. Not much of an answer I know.

I think it's moisture on the mount. Seems to do it more when raining.
I've not had it since I cleaned the mount and back of zumo and put a bit of acf50 on it.

My 660 is giving that message last time I used it. It did it before briefly, and iirc it just went away.
