I wonder if anyone can help me? Having used Mapsource for years and now having a MAC pc i am trying ever so hard to get into Garmin Base Camp, some of the features i really like. But here is my two probs so far

1.
When i make a route and send to device it finds my Zumo 660 says route has gone but when i go into Zumo its not there? Tried everything! I am having to send route to Mapsource in windows!! then it downlaods to device OK?
Any Ideas?

2.When i open up base camp it shows what maps are there i have NT2011.1 in my Zumo but when i go to my dashborad in Gramin website all is unlocked etc but base camp don't show the 2011.1 Only 2010.1. After Base camp finds my zumo the 2011.1 maps appear on the drop down. But as soon as i unplug the zumo there gone?

Help :)

Your second point seems to be that you don't have the updated maps on your computer. There is an option, under the "Advanced" button during an update, to put the maps onto your computer as well as your PC.

Can't help with your first point I''m afraid.

Point 1.

I had this same problem

The maps seem to 'import' ok to the zumo but they are placed under the MY DATA section not the custom routes.

So look there.

....

The NT2011.1 maps are there on my MAC cos if I switch to bootcamp section and run windows 7 with mapsource they show up and are working fine. But i was hoping to get more into using Garmin Base Camp which only shows maps NT2010.1 and Global, No NT2011.1

Why cant i get them into the tool bar at the top on the MAC when in Boot Camp thats the question?

Forget basecamp - install parallels which allows you to run 'windoze' on your Mac and run your Garmin applications as before

Yes I have used the base camp Mac idea and installed windows on the split hd but it's a pain switching off and on, I know parallels would sort that but just wanted to use Mac not windows if poss? No virus and update stuff all that.

Derek,

Just because they are in the Windows partition of your disk (Bootcamp) doesn't mean that they are in the Mac partition on your disk - where you will find Basecamp.

You still probably don't have the map available to Basecamp - if i may put it like that.

Go to "My Garmin" and download the maps again and wait until the page comes up in the update process that allows you to click on an "Advanced" box. Select the option to install maps to your Mac as well the GPS.

All should be well after this and the maps will be available to Basecamp (without your GPS being connected).

understanding basecamp

any of you guys having troube getting to grips with basecamp. i've been using memory map for quite a few years very happily, sadly my road angel has retired so i've bought a montana. great unit according to all the reviews and from what use i've had it seems very good. however finding my way around basecamp is not easy. i don't find the help feature easy to use, any-one found any good user guides on the net?
