I've just paid 135 quid to get my Z660 repaired. This is the second time. The MORE MAP VIEW doesn't work properly - you can't swipe it and then move the screen.
I think this is a rip off. They have poorly written software, and charge 135 quid to fix it.
I really wish I'd got a Tom Tom.
And I've just spend 30 minutes on the phone just to get through to them.
THey are a US company that simply has not invested in UK support, and is falling behind in consumer sat nav.

Ditto, mine does everything I need it to. Never had to return one, but have friends that fhave and seem to get excellent service

Would touch a tom tom ..

+1, I've had to send my NAV3 for repair and had a new one sent in return, and following a quick call to their support guys they also transfered my life time map updates. You can stick your TomTom up your ass - :thumb

Never had a tom tom, but there seems to be less complaints about them, and they definitely have a bigger UK user base.
C'mon NOrthLondonCookie, the dutch are cool. Especially the women...

I think for bikes it's a pretty even split between the two makes. Though ask adventure riders and I think that Garmin will win the day though. The TomTom following being based more on market forces and experience outside of the motorcycling fraternity.

Both will do a decent job of getting you around on the road in Europe but for a combination of route planning, off road biking and countries without commercially available mapping Garmin is the sat nav of choice.

If you'd asked about the level of complaints a couple of years ago you would have found plenty of dissatisfied TomTom Rider users after/during the great Rider v1 mount debacle. Garmin customer support are pretty good in my limited experience; four Garmins and no breakdowns/returns, though I've dealt with them on registration issues and they've been proactive and helpful.

Had trouble with the Garmin (car) when one for the bike was needed went for TT R2 Europe.
No problems todate and easy to use and downloading from the TT site is hassle free unlike the garmin which is pisspoor and hard to navigate.
I dont want something that makes tea and irons my shirt just A to B and Hotels.

Try running their mac software, then you'll have something to complain about.

Well, they sent me another unit by return of post, and it has exactly the same fault, so it's presumably a software bug. Even though they said they couldn't reproduce it on their machines.
I'm sorry, but they ARE useless.
I better get my money back..

Thing is, if it worked, it'd be ok. I don't want to travel back in technology-time and get a 550. Altho' I wish I still had my 2610. It fell off the dashboard and broke its screen on the gearstick knob !

I did phone them up. They said they weren't fixing 2610's any more.. It went in the bin.
