Does anyone have any experience of updating maps on an early Garmin Nuvi? If I use my new computer (2.4GHz, Vista, USB2) I can install all the Garmin utilities and maps from the update DVD supplied with my Nuvi 660 but the process fails when transferring maps to the Nuvi, leaving me with a dead lump of electronics. If I use my antique Dell (500MHz P3, not much memory, USB1.1), all the Garmin utilities install and then, 2 hours later, maps are installed on the Nuvi. I need to know whether my USB ports are suspect (but they work fine with a Canon camera and a couple of generic MP3 players) or whether early Garmins don't like lot of high speed data down a USB port.
