can someone please answer a basic question for a GPS numpty? I recently bought (not for use with the bike) a Garmin Nuvi. The site I bought it from was excellent, however, I'm confused on the subject ofthe MapSource application. The website said:
Package Includes
Nuvi 350.
Mapsource City Navigator Europe (Full Unlock) DVD.
Ac Adaptor.
12V Car Charger.
Windscreen Mount.
Leather Carry Case.
USB Cable.
...all of which I got _except for the MapSource DVD. Now I THINK, I cannot use it anyway, as the Nuvi series doesn't 'support' routing/tracklogs/whatever you call them - the means of downloading onto a PC the track of a route you/someone has ridden.
I've read the earlier threads on this section and note
Mapsource is an application that’s installed on your pc. It isn’t on your GPS unit. You use it to: View the sets of maps that you have on your pc. You can select an area of maps or all of them for sending to a GPS unit. Depends on the amount of memory available in your GPS"
.....but this isn't an option for the Nuvi, as far as I know.
So,
Do I need MapSource?
If so, what does it do for me?
Thanks
